Family Visa / Visit Visa
Family Visa
The Family Visa, also known as a Residency Visa for Dependents, allows expatriates with a valid UAE residency visa to sponsor their immediate family members to live with them in the country. This service is essential for family reunification and ensures loved ones can reside together legally.
Key Requirements & Process:
- Sponsorship Eligibility: The sponsor (the visa holder) must have a valid residency visa and meet a minimum monthly salary threshold. The standard minimum salary for a male expatriate to sponsor a spouse and children is AED 4,000 or AED 3,000 plus accommodation. A female expatriate can also sponsor her family but generally requires a higher minimum salary (e.g., AED 10,000) and may need to be in a specific professional field.
- Relationship Proof: To sponsor a spouse, an attested marriage certificate is required. For children, an attested birth certificate is needed. These documents must be attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the home country and the UAE Embassy.
- Medical Fitness Test: All sponsored family members aged 18 and over must undergo a medical fitness test in the UAE, which includes screenings for HIV and Tuberculosis. A "fit" result is mandatory for the visa to be issued.
- Emirates ID: Like the sponsor, each family member receives a residency visa and must apply for an Emirates ID, which involves providing biometric data.
- Health Insurance: It is a legal requirement in Dubai for all residents to have health insurance. The sponsor must provide valid health insurance for their family members.
Visit Visa
A Visit Visa allows foreign nationals to enter the UAE for a short-term stay for purposes like tourism, visiting family or friends, or business. Unlike a residency visa, it does not permit the holder to be employed in the country.
Types of Visit Visas:
- Tourist Visa: This is the most common type for individuals visiting for tourism. It is available for single or multiple entries for varying durations, typically 30 or 60 days.
- Visit Visa for Family: This is for individuals visiting a resident family member in the UAE. The resident sponsor applies for the visa on behalf of the visitor.
- Five-Year Multi-Entry Tourist Visa: This visa allows tourists to enter the UAE multiple times over five years on a self-sponsorship basis, with each visit limited to a maximum of 90 days.
- Visa on Arrival: Citizens of certain countries are eligible for a free visa on arrival, which allows them to stay for a specific period without prior arrangement.
Key Features & Process:
- Sponsorship: A visit visa can be sponsored by a UAE-based relative, a hotel, or a travel agency.
- Required Documents: Typically includes a passport copy with a minimum of six months validity, a passport-sized photograph, and a confirmed return ticket.
- Application: The application is usually submitted through an accredited travel agency, an airline, or a sponsor in the UAE.
The agency's role is to provide a seamless process for both family and visit visa applications. They offer consultation to determine eligibility, assist with document attestation, prepare and submit applications to the relevant government authorities (like the GDRFA), and handle all follow-ups to ensure a timely and successful outcome.
